The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) Special Chiefs Assembly (SCA) will be held virtually (on-line) and by phone. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in-person gathering restrictions, the December 2021 Special Chiefs Assembly will be hosted virtually to ensure the safety of First Nations leadership and other attendees.
Chiefs from across the country generally come together twice a year to set strategic direction based on First Nations needs and priorities. The Chiefs Assemblies provide the venue for First Nations leaders to direct the work of the Assembly of First Nations, the National Chief and Executive Committee through resolution. It is just one way First Nations leaders bring forward the concerns and priorities of First Nations members.
Please contact us if you have accessibility issues.
Media
The SCA will not be live streamed. Please pre-register by December 4, 2021 to avoid any delays. The AFN will email you access to a Zoom webinar (viewing access only) or teleconference number (audio only) prior to the SCA.
Registration for accredited media is free.
