The Forum will host plenary sessions and interactive workshops on the long-term approach for First Nations housing and related infrastructure on First Nations as well as housing for First Nations members who live in urban, rural and northern areas.

The Forum is an opportunity to provide input on the development of the First Nations National Housing and Related Infrastructure Strategy which is guided solely by the aim of ensuring that all First Nations members living in or away from their First Nations will have access to housing that suits their needs.

Forum Attendees will include:

  • Chiefs or their representatives;
  • Housing and Public Works Managers, Indigenous Housing Service Providers, and individuals who are working in the field of housing management and infrastructure management;
  • First Nations organizations or technicians interested in improving how housing and infrastructure is managed and delivered;
  • Consultants and other non-government entities involved in First Nations housing and infrastructure; and,
  • Federal Government housing and infrastructure officials.

Featuring: Trade Show Exhibitors showcasing the latest housing and infrastructure products and services. Have your Passport to Prizes signed by the Trade Show Exhibitors and be entered into a draw to win a great prize at the end of the Forum! Participants must be present on the last day to win!

All activities will be taking place at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, 900 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • Development of a First Nations National Housing and Related Infrastructure Strategy.
  • The creation of new systems for housing and related infrastructure, and new ways to deliver housing services to First Nations.
  • Identifying effective ways to leverage investments and finding new ways to finance housing and related infrastructure.
  • Identifying skills and capacity needs to support the transition process.
  • Sharing of best practices.
