Assembly of First Nations National Chief Congratulates Ghislain Picard on Re-Election as Regional Chief of Quebec and Labrador

(Ottawa, ON) - Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo offers congratulations to Ghislain Picard, who was re-elected today to the AFN National Executive to represent the Quebec/Labrador region.
“Regional Chief Picard is a dedicated and long-serving member of the AFN National Executive. I look forward to his continued leadership and contributions to the Assembly of First Nations. Regional Chief Picard has worked to address a number of priority areas at the national level, including advocacy for implementation of the United Nations Declaration of Rights for Indigenous Peoples in guiding all of our work in the protection of First Nation title and rights,” said National Chief Atleo. “I look forward to our ongoing efforts to advance the goals and interests of First Nations in Canada and especially those in the Quebec/Labrador region.”
Ghislain Picard was re-elected today in Quebec City during an AFNQL Chiefs Assembly. A proud Innu from the community of Pessamit, he will be serving his eighth term as Regional Chief of Quebec/Labrador.
