Get Connected and Get Information from the AFN!
This Communiqué is to inform you of the many ways Chiefs and First Nation citizens can get information and communicate with the Assembly of First Nations on an ongoing basis.
The AFN Policy staff host weekly conference calls with Provincial-Territorial Organizations (PTOs) on key issues and activities. To get more information about how you can participate, please contact AFN Senior Policy Analyst Julie-Ann Tomiak at jtomiak@afn.ca.
Visit the AFN’s website at www.afn.ca to sign-up for our e-mail listserv to receive electronic copies of AFN press releases, National Chief Monthly Bulletins, Policy & Legislative Bulletins, reports and event notices sent directly to your e-mail. These materials are also broadcast faxed to First Nation band offices, PTOs and Tribal Councils. If you’re not receiving these regular updates, please contact Tash Cote, Communications Administrative Assistant, at tcote@afn.ca.
The main page of the AFN website features the latest press releases, press statements and other update information. Press releases and advisories are also distributed through Canada Newswire and e-mailed to AFN Regional Offices and PTO communication officers. We also target distribution of specific news releases through Aboriginal/First Nation distribution networks and host exclusive press conference calls with Aboriginal media.
AFN publications such as the annual reports, Special Chiefs Assembly reports, fact sheets, newsletters, and bulletins are distributed by various means and posted on the AFN website. Be sure to check out the website and the Policy Areas section.
Become our friend on Facebook! The Assembly of First Nations/Assemblée des Premières Nations Facebook page includes photos, press releases and announcements, and links to news, videos and information.
